What We Do

Our British born brand, Bert & Bud, launched its sustainable, unisex clothing range in 2024. Our mission? To offer all children comfortable, fashionable and functional clothing - whatever their needs.

We’ve designed our range with all in mind, and aim to make dressing your children easier. Some of our key features include:

  • Soft-touch fabrics with extra stretch for ultimate comfort

  • Extra room in the width for ease of movement and comfort,

  • Fastenings for easy open and close functionality

  • Soft garment care label (no scratchy internal labels), with age appropriate CPR instructions.

  • Hidden access for feeding tubes or stoma bags

  • Shoulder opening for ease of dressing and quick access to central or hickman lines.

  • Folded foot cuffs for access and securing vital obs wires, without the need for socks.,

We hope that some of these small details can help make a big difference to both parents and children in the Bert & Bud community.

All of our patterns and prints are designed exclusively by us, right here in London, and we partner with factories and mills that focus on the manufacture of sustainable fabrics, and production of small quantities to eliminate any excess waste on our planet!

The Bert & Bud range currently caters to all children aged 0-7 years, but are designed to be oversized, so can last far longer than this. We also hope to extended sizing through to adulthood soon, if the interest is there.

Beauty in a box

We’ve put together a range of “boxes” containing everything you need to create a capsule wardrobe for your child. Our collections are trans-seasonal, and designed to mix and match, meaning you can expect versatility and longevity from the items you love most.

Each box will contain the statement printed pieces, along with the accompanying garments in the same colours found in the print, ensuring you have everything you need for a full outfit, all year round. NEED SOMETHING ELSE… LET US KNOW

Who are Bert and Bud?

In October 2017, we very sadly lost our dad, Albert. He was the most amazingly supportive, encouraging and honest man, as well as our biggest advocate.

When Hannah, Founder of Bert & Bud, was expecting her daughter, Florence, she chose to keep the gender a surprise. Throughout the pregnancy, Hannah gave her growing bump the nickname ‘Bud’, and it was a nickname that stuck with us. Having ‘Bud’ around helped us understand what we wanted to achieve and how we could help make the hectic lives of families a little easier. Now having Cecily too, who suffers from eczema and allergies, we understand ever more about the importance of soft hand feel fabrics and comfort, especially during hospital stays.

Who is Hannah?

Hannah has worked for some incredible London based Fashion designers (Roland Mouret, Victoria Beckham, The White Company, All Saints, Emilia Wickstead, Nicole Farhi, Tata Naka and Cabbages and Roses) starting as an intern and working her way up to Senior Gerber pattern cutter and Garment Technologist. She has used her maternity leave for both girls to make this dream a reality and try and make some headway in the much needed inclusivity clothing ranges.

Eva’s Story

Bert & Bud was not only created in loving memory of our Dad Albert, but also in honour of Little Eva. A very dear friend of ours had a beautiful niece, Eva. Eva’s parents found that fashionable and exciting outfits for Eva were hard to come by, with both choice and stock being very limited. We wish Eva could have worn Bert & Bud’s comfortable and playful items, but knowing Eva, she’ll be happy to have had some input into making others smile.

Swap Shop

Has your child outgrown their Bert & Bud items? We want to reduce waste in our world, so please join us on our mission to reuse and recycle. All you need to do is send any outgrown garments back to us, and we’ll do the rest!

Any items in a good condition, will be re-sold for a largely reduced price, to ensure affordability for all, and anything in need of a bit of love, we can up-cycle to ensure someone can get some use out of them. All profits from pre loved clothing will be donated directly to St Georges’s Hospital.

Did You Know?

We give 5% of all profits (along with all pre loved profits) to St George’s hospital charity in London. This fantastic teaching hospital is very close to our hearts!
